  • Lisa Mantello

    Lisa Mantello is an experienced transactional lawyer who is recognized for her fresh perspective and creativity in solving problems for her clients. Lisa practices in all areas of financial services with particular expertise in domestic and cross-border financing transactions, structured finance, derivatives, securities lending and repo transactions. She brings to the table a wealth of practical knowledge from being involved in some of the most complex and dynamic transactions of the last decade in the Canadian finance market. She is Canadian counsel for the International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA), the International Capital Markets Association (ICMA) and the International Securities Lending Association (ISLA). Her work with ISDA , ICMA and ISLA includes drafting and publishing the Canadian netting industry opinions for each industry association which is relied upon by members of ISDA, ICMA and ISLA around the world. Recently, Lisa was named one of the Top 25 Most Influential Lawyers in Canada for 2023. Lisa has been appointed to the Collateral Infrastructure and Market Practices Advisory Group by the Bank of Canada. This group provides guidance on the structure of the Canadian repo market. Lisa’s expertise will not only contribute to the development of a robust financial infrastructure but also serve to enhance Osler’s ongoing relationship with the Bank of Canada. Lisa’s appointment reflects the firm’s deep involvement and influence within the Canadian financial legal landscape. In 2022, Lisa was appointed by the Bank of Canada as Chair of the Legal and Compliance Committee as part of the Canadian Alternative Reference Rate (CARR) working group established to shift Canada to the new Canadian Overnight Repo Rate Average (CORRA). Her guidance and leadership on these committees has proven invaluable as Canada completed a smooth, viable and sound transition to a risk free interest rate. She led the drafting of the recommended fallback language that was implemented by every major financial institution and lender in the Canadian market.

  • Jennifer Moss

    Jennifer Moss is an international speaker, award-winning journalist and author, workplace culture strategist, and cofounder of the Work Better Institute, a global workforce policy think tank. She is a nationally syndicated radio columnist and writes for Harvard Business Review, Fast Company, and Fortune. As a workplace expert, Jennifer is regularly invited by global media outlets to share her research and insights. Jennifer strategizes with leadership teams of large enterprise firms to measure well-being and improve organizational culture and performance. She is a former member of the Global Happiness Council, in partnership with Gallup and the UN, and contributor to their annual Global Happiness Policy Report. Why Are We Here? is Jennifer’s third leadership book focused on workplace culture and wellness. Her last book, The Burnout Epidemic, was named by Thinkers50 as one of the 10 Best New Management Books of 2022. It was also shortlisted for the 2021 Outstanding Works of Literature Awards. Unlocking Happiness at Work was named a business book of the year in the United Kingdom. An updated second edition of the book will be released in April, 2025. Jennifer’s work also appears in the HBR Guide to Beating Burnout and the HBR Emotional Intelligence Series. Jennifer has been acknowledged as a Canadian Innovator of the Year, an International Female Entrepreneur of the Year and is the recipient of a Public Service Award from the Office of President Obama.
